About the Role:
The Audio-Visual Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of audio and visual equipment for a variety of events and installations. This position is responsible for setting up, testing, and troubleshooting AV systems to deliver high-quality sound and visual experiences. The technician collaborates closely with event coordinators, clients, and technical teams to meet specific event requirements and technical specifications. They must maintain and repair AV equipment to ensure reliability and longevity, adapting quickly to dynamic event environments. Ultimately, the role ensures that all audio and visual components function flawlessly to enhance communication, presentations, and entertainment experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as an Audio-Visual Technician or in a similar technical role.
Strong understanding of audio and video equipment, signal flow, and AV system integration.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or certification in Audio Visual Technology, Electronics, or related field.
Experience with live event production and broadcast environments.
Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs) and video editing software.
Knowledge of networked AV systems and control protocols such as Crestron or AMX.
Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and dismantle audio and visual equipment including microphones, speakers, projectors, video monitors, and lighting systems for events and installations.
Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of AV systems to identify and resolve technical issues promptly.
