Responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical installations, including high-voltage systems, at an LNG terminal. Tasks include fault analysis, ensuring compliance with ATEX and NEN standards, and participating in the call-out service.
Requires a completed MBO degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of maintenance experience within the oil and gas industry. Candidates must be proficient in high/low voltage installations, ATEX/NEN standards, and possess strong leadership and communication skills.

Bij Gate terminal draait alles om betrouwbaarheid, veiligheid en efficiëntie – en dat begint bij onze mensen. De afdeling Maintenance bestaat uit zo’n twintig collega’s die dagelijks werken aan het optimaal functioneren van onze LNG-terminal. Een plek waar techniek, energie en innovatie samenkomen.
Binnen deze afdeling zorgen we ervoor dat al het onderhoud voldoet aan de hoogste wettelijke normen én de verwachtingen van onze aandeelhouders. Dit doen we vanuit vier specialismen: Projecten, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (C&I) en Mechanical. We werken met moderne systemen en tooling, waaronder ons Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), dat een cruciale rol speelt in de beschikbaarheid van materialen en het plannen van onderhoud.
Je komt terecht in een relatief jong team van technisch specialisten. We hebben korte lijnen, een open cultuur en een gedeelde passie voor techniek. Samen zorgen we ervoor dat de terminal dag in, dag uit veilig en stabiel blijft draaien.
Electrical verricht preventief en curatief onderhoud, nieuwbouw- en uitbreidingswerkzaamheden op elektrotechnisch gebied, inclusief hoogspanning. Dit gebeurt zodanig dat opdrachten tijdig en overeenkomstig de vereiste specificaties en voorschriften worden gerealiseerd.
In de functie van Electrical technician ben je binnen de afdeling Maintenance verantwoordelijk voor het verrichten van preventief en correctief onderhoud op het elektrisch gebied (inclusief hoogspannning). Dit doe je zodanig dat de opdrachten tijdig en overeenkomstig de vereiste specificaties en geldende voorschriften worden uitgevoerd. Je werkt nauw samen met de Electrical supervisor en collega technicians en rapporteert aan de Electrical Engineer.
Je belangrijkste uitdagingen en taken
Uitvoeren van inspecties en storingsanalyses aan laag-, midden- en hoogspanningsinstallaties
Signaleren en rapporteren van onveilige of afwijkende situaties aan de Electrical Supervisor
Verhelpen van storingen en uitvoeren van correctief onderhoud om uitval te voorkomen
Schakelen en veiligstellen van installaties volgens ATEX- en NEN-normen
Begeleiden van werkzaamheden aan kabelnetten, schakelkasten en elektromotoren
Voorstellen doen ter verbetering van technische situaties en onderhoudsmethoden
Deelname aan de consignatiedienst (call-out service) volgens rooster

Gate terminal on Maasvlakte in Rotterdam is the first and only LNG import terminal in the Netherlands. The terminal, a joint venture between Nederlandse Gasunie and Royal Vopak, supports the supply and throughput of LNG (liquefied natural gas) for Northwest Europe. LNG arrives by carrier from areas including the Middle East, Norway and Africa. Storage tanks enable large quantities of LNG to be unloaded in one go. The terminal operates as a hub in which the product is reloaded in smaller carriers for export, or is converted into natural gas and transported via pipelines to the European distribution network. Gate terminal has facilities for loading LNG in vessels, containers and trucks. LNG can then be transported to supply natural gas in areas without a pipeline infrastructure or can supply at petrol stations. This first Dutch LNG import terminal has been operational since 2011 and has an annual throughput capacity of 12 billion m3 of gas per year. The Gate terminal capacity covers approximately a third of the national gas consumption. The terminal has three storage tanks, three jetties, three loading sites for lorries and an area in which LNG is converted into natural gas.
