The Senior SDET will design and scale extensible test automation frameworks for mobile games while integrating them into CI/CD pipelines. They will also lead security and penetration testing efforts to identify vulnerabilities and ensure high-quality game performance.
Candidates must have 5+ years of SDET experience with at least 2 years specifically in mobile game automation using Unity or Unreal Engine. Proficiency in C#, Python, or Java and deep knowledge of mobile security tools and frameworks are required.
Design, build, and scale extensible test automation frameworks from scratch tailored for mobile games (Android & iOS).
Integrate automation checks seamlessly into the CI/CD pipeline (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) to enable continuous testing.
Implement solutions for handling complex mobile game UI elements, 3D/2D assets, and dynamic game states.
Develop and execute automated Smoke Tests for rapid build verification and Sanity Tests for deep-dive feature validation.
Build automated testing suites for Live Ops (e.g., verifying real-time events, in-game store updates, push notifications, and server-driven content changes without app store updates).
Implement performance automation to monitor frame rates (FPS), memory leaks, CPU usage, and battery consumption across various device tiers.
Work closely with Game Developers, QA Engineers, and DevOps to identify automation gaps and embed quality into the development lifecycle.
Mentor junior/mid-level SDETs and manual QA team members on automation best practices.
Provide clear, data-driven dashboards and reports on test coverage, pass/fail rates, and game performance metrics to stakeholders.
Design and execute automated Penetration (Pen) Testing scenarios targeting mobile application vulnerabilities and backend APIs.
Integrate automated static application security testing (SAST) and dynamic application security testing (DAST) tools directly into the CI/CD pipeline.
Identify and simulate common game security threats, including memory manipulation (e.g., speed hacks, value freezes), client-side tampering, and secure data storage leaks.
Validate the integrity of In-App Purchases (IAP) and telemetry data against packet spoofing, man-in-the-middle (MitM) attacks, and receipt validation bypasses.
Game Engines: Hands-on experience writing test automation for games built on Unity (using tools like Unity Test Framework, AltTester/AltUnity) or Unreal Engine.
Mobile Automation Tools: Deep expertise in mobile automation tools such as Appium, AltTester, Airtest, or native frameworks (XCTest, Espresso).
Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in C# (highly preferred for Unity), Python, Java, or C++.
Device Management: Experience managing physical device labs or cloud-based device farms (e.g., AWS Device Farm, BrowserStack, Firebase Test Lab).
Backend & API Testing: Strong understanding of API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured) to validate backend services and Live Ops configurations.
Mobile Pen Testing Tools: Hands-on experience with mobile security and penetration testing tools such as Frida (dynamic instrumentation framework), Ghidra, IDA Pro, OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, or Drozer.
Security Frameworks: Deep knowledge of the OWASP Mobile Application Security (MASVS) verification standard.
Vulnerability Expertise: Proven experience identifying and mitigating client-side game vulnerabilities (e.g., reverse engineering, memory scanning/editing via tools like Cheat Engine/GameGuardian architectures, and API protocol tampering).
5+ years of experience in Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) roles.
2+ years of specific experience in Mobile Game Automation (applications with heavy graphics/shading, not just standard CRUD apps).
Proven track record of designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for mobile platforms.

We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate Senior SDET to join our growing Automation Department. In this role, you will be the chief architect of our mobile game automation frameworks. You will design, build, and maintain robust automated testing pipelines—covering everything from early-stage Smoke and Sanity checks to real-time Live Ops verification.
