At Full Circle Wind Services, we keep the turbines turning and the wind energy flowing. As a trusted leader in renewable energy services, we’re seeking experienced Major Component Exchange (MCE) Team Leads to oversee a team of Technicians performing large-scale wind turbine component replacements, including gearboxes, generators, blades, and main bearings. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, leadership skills, and a proven commitment to safety and quality in wind energy operations.
 
This role is all about precision, leadership, and resilience. From lifting massive gearboxes high above the ground to ensuring every bolt is tightened to perfection, you’ll be part of the crew that helps power a cleaner future!
 
What You’ll Do
Just like a wind turbine relies on balance and engineering excellence, our projects rely on skilled technicians like you to make things happen. 

You’ll be responsible for: 

• Lead and supervise MCE technicians during major turbine component exchanges.
• Plan and coordinate cranes, tools, logistics, and parts for project readiness.
• Execute lift operations safely and efficiently following OEM procedures.
• Conduct safety briefings, job hazard analyses, and pre-task assessments.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems during exchanges.
• Ensure full compliance with company safety, quality, and LOTO procedures.
• Collaborating with OEM technical advisors and wind farm operators to deliver projects safely and on time.
• Keeping meticulous records because every turbine tells a story, and accurate documentation keeps that story running smoothly.
• Traveling to wind farms across the UK, sometimes for extended stays or rotational projects.

 
What We’re Looking For: 

We’re Seeking Someone Who Thrives In a Hands-on, Outdoor Environment Where Every Day Brings a New Challenge and Every Job Contributes To a Greener Planet
 

• At least 2 years of experience in wind turbine maintenance, with a focus on major component exchanges.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or Lead Technician role
• Excellent planning, communication and leadership skills
• A strong mechanical or electrical background, backed by qualifications such as NVQ, HNC, or similar.
• GWO Basic Safety Training (Working at Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness).
• A valid medical fitness certificate because working at heights in the elements takes strength and focus.
• Confidence working in challenging weather conditions and at heights.
• A full driving license and the flexibility to travel to remote wind farm sites.
• A team-first mindset, excellent communication skills, and a drive to problem-solve under pressure.

 
Soft Skills For The Win(d)

• OEM-specific training (Siemens Gamesa, Vestas, GE, Nordex, Enercon, Senvion, or EWT).
• Expertise in hydraulics, torque and tensioning tools, or borescope inspections.
• Experience with technical lift plans, rigging diagrams, or engineering schematics.
• A background in wind turbine installation or commissioning.
