Universal Energy Solutions is hiring motivated individuals to join our Houston team as Consumer Sales. Whether you’re just starting your career, changing industries, or looking for a fresh opportunity, this entry-level position is designed for people who enjoy working with others and want to build a successful career helping local businesses.
No previous sales experience? No problem.
As a Consumer Sales Rep, you’ll meet with local business or residential owners to review their electricity and natural gas supply plans, identify opportunities to reduce energy costs, and recommend competitive supplier options that best fit their business needs. We'll provide the training, coaching, and mentorship to help you succeed.

During your first several weeks, you’ll focus on developing new customer relationships while learning our proven customer consultation process alongside experienced mentors. From your first day of training, we'll help build confidence, strengthen your communication skills, and teach you a proven customer consultation process that’s helped many of our team members build successful careers.
As you gain experience, you’ll have opportunities to take on larger customer portfolios, build long-term client relationships, and advance into Account Manager and other leadership positions. We’re committed to promoting from within as part of our goal to continually expand into 20+ additional markets over the next few years.
What You’ll Do
Your day begins at the office, where, as a team, we'll plan, prepare and strategize for the day ahead. You'll then head into your assigned territory and crush your goals. From there, you control the tone and outcome of your day. Responsibilities include:

Compensation
We offer two compensation paths designed to support both new and experienced professionals.
Base Pay + Commission - ideal for those beginning their careers
Commission-Only - ideal for experienced professionals
Typical On Target Earnings for Consultants are in the range $55,000–$70,000, with Top Performers exceeding $100k+ in their first year.
Paid Training & Career Development
During your first 2 weeks, we provide Paid Training as you work closely with experienced mentor to learn our customer consultation process, build confidence, and develop the skills needed for long-term success. As you progress in your career, we'll committed to provide continual career training and development in the areas of leadership, business management, and finances. Our goal isn’t simply to help you meet with your first customer—it’s to help you build a successful career.
