Description

 Job Summary

The Student and Career Development Specialist supports the work of the Scholarship Foundation and Career Development team in advancing, connecting, and supporting students, educators, and young professionals. This role manages all operational and logistical aspects of the scholarship application process, while being the point of contact for all Foundation and Career Development marketing campaigns. Additionally, the Student and Career Development Specialist ensures that administrative needs of the department are met. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

· Manage the application and administration processes for the Foundation’s Scholarship Programs. This includes overseeing the application platform, collecting applications, compiling scholarship data for the Program Committee that oversees the scholarships, submitting marketing requests, and monitoring communications with scholars.

· Support student outreach and engagement through campus visits to attract college students to the profession and the FICPA.

· Manage the production of programs aimed at showcasing the accounting profession to high school students across the state.

· Produce the Student, Educator and Young CPA Newsletter and program and scholarship webpages, collaborating with the FICPA Scholarship Foundation and the Career Development Manager to provide updated material to members. 

· Maintain accurate records of relationships with universities and colleges through organizations and educators.

· Assist with pre-and-post events needs for all Foundation and Career Development programs and initiatives by building agendas, bags, evaluations, printing material, sending speaker and attendee communications, and any other items necessary for a successful event.

· Facilitate invoice submissions and track expenses for the department and assist with expense report submissions.

· Assist with the day-to-day tracking of the Scholarship Foundation campaigns and solicitors for contributions.

· Oversee project management for planning and production of all electronic and print marketing/communication pieces. 

· Compile materials supporting the work of the Young CPA and Accounting Careers and Education Committees

· Provide support to the FICPA Scholarship Foundation and FICPA on projects as needed.

Requirements

 Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Graduation from high school or an equivalent certificate.
  • Two to five years of membership association, not for profit, college student outreach and career assistance, or related professional experience preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience. 
  • Ability to travel within the state of Florida, including a valid Florida driver's license. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with managing projects and events, scholarship programs, and volunteers.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills – conversational and business professional.

Essential Physical Skills:

  • Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic/mobile device functions for data collection, and use a keyboard/computer, printer, fax, copier. 
  • Able to receive and act on detailed information through oral and written communication.
  • Must apply finger dexterity, sufficient corrected or uncorrected vision, hearing, oral communication and critical thinking on a regular basis to perform all duties and responsibilities.
  • Requires extended periods of sitting, working on the computer, and using electronic telephone devices. 
  • Ability to travel via car. Must be able to travel for student outreach events and campus visits, or as required by the FICPA. 
  • May frequently be required to stand, walk, and occasionally use arms and hands to reach. 
  • May also require occasional lifting and carrying of 10-20 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in the primary workplace location to ensure appropriate cooperation and collaboration with coworkers in an in-person capacity to best ensure support to the Association’s membership.
