Perform should-cost modelling and process mapping for components like sheet metal and machining to identify cost reduction opportunities. Collaborate with engineering teams to inform design decisions based on manufacturing costs and market rates.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with over 6 years of experience in automotive or off-highway industries. Must have at least 4 years of proficiency in aPriori, Creo, and Windchill tools.
Responsible for should costing of components using aPriori software (Sheet metal, Metal Fabrication, Machining, Painting processes)
Perform should-cost modelling to estimate product costs and identify potential design modifications for cost reduction.
Develop should-costing models and manufacturing process maps for key commodities including Sheet metal, Metal Fabrication, Machining, Painting and wire harness.
Demonstrate strong understanding of the relationship between manufacturing processes/operations, geometric features, cycle time, and cost impact.
Collaborate closely with engineering team sharing key takeaways from cost modelling and analysis work to inform design decisions from component level through full assembly techniques
Maintain good awareness of current market rates for materials and manufacturing processes & equipment/machines.
