We're seeking a Senior Payroll Operations Specialist to serve as a key steward of payroll accuracy and compliance across a multi-site manufacturing environment. This is a highly visible role responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
This position is ideal for payroll professionals who enjoy the operational side of payroll—processing complex payrolls, auditing transactions, resolving discrepancies, supporting employees, and maintaining compliance.

While you will utilize payroll and timekeeping systems as part of daily operations, the primary focus of this role is the execution, accuracy, compliance, and administration of payroll.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
Ensure payroll is completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
Review, reconcile, and validate timekeeping data, pay adjustments, deductions, and payroll exceptions.
Administer complex payroll transactions including:
Shift differentials
Retroactive pay adjustments
Bonuses and commissions
Wage garnishments
Child support orders
Tax levies
Benefit deductions
Other non-routine payroll transactions
Compliance & Reporting
Maintain compliance with multi-state payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and applicable labor requirements.
Prepare payroll-related reporting for:
401(k) plans
Garnishments
Unemployment
Workers' compensation
Other regulatory requirements
Conduct payroll audits and reconciliations to ensure payroll accuracy and proper tax withholding.
Support internal and external audits.
Partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, and Operations teams on payroll-related matters.
Employee Data & Payroll Maintenance
Maintain payroll records for new hires, promotions, transfers, status changes, and terminations.
Ensure accuracy of employee information including:
Pay rates
Schedules
Tax elections
Direct deposit information
Benefit deductions
Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies while maintaining data integrity.
Employee Support
Serve as a trusted resource for employee payroll questions and concerns.
Provide professional, timely, and accurate responses regarding payroll matters.
Investigate and resolve pay-related issues.

3+ years of payroll experience in a multi-state, multi-FEIN environment.
Experience processing payroll for both hourly and salaried employees.
Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now or a comparable payroll platform.
Understanding of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and benefit deductions.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred
Experience supporting multiple manufacturing facilities, plants, or business units.
Exposure to complex payroll environments with rotating shifts, attendance incentives, and variable compensation programs.
Experience with payroll audits, tax filings, and year-end processing.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to resolve payroll discrepancies.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or relevant payroll coursework.
