Develop and facilitate individual and group recreational therapy programs for young men in a residential treatment setting. Coordinate adventure outings, lead specialized classes like rock climbing and winter sports, and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure consistent patient care.
Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in recreation therapy along with state (TRS) and national (CTRS) certifications. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, pass background checks, and have or be able to obtain First Aid, CPR, and Ropes Course certifications.

Nestled next to the Uinta National Forest in the southern Wasatch Range, Discovery Ranch for Boys is a residential treatment center. Our students struggle with emotional, behavioral, and substance use disorders. This includes depression, anxiety, unhealthy relationships, trauma, and substance abuse. We believe healthy relationships are the foundation of lasting, meaningful change and our experiential curriculum reflects this core value.
As our Recreational Therapist, you will develop recreational therapy programs for individual students as well as facilitate group recreational therapy. You will work closely with our Clinical Therapists and Youth Mentors to ensure we deliver consistent, quality programming to our students that engages, challenges, and empowers them.

Every part of Discovery Ranch, from the amazing campus to the nationally accredited Academic Program, helps to promote growth and healing. While enrolled at Discovery Ranch, teen boys will experience a safe and structured environment. They will have opportunities for growth through our experiential campus, by developing new skills and interests. They will take part in equine therapy and horsemanship programs and will have the responsibility of caring for a rescued baby calf. These experiences will teach teen boys values like Responsibility, Grit, Honesty, Respect, Courage, Kindness, and Accountability. Throughout your their experience at Discovery Ranch he will have the support of caring, educated, experienced professionals.
