Position Overview & Key Job Duties:

• Load and unload raw materials, parts, and finished products.
• Prepare material for fabrication (cutting, grinding, measuring)
• Assist with cutting, welding, grinding and drilling.
• Use hand tools and power tools to assemble components.
• Follow blueprintsm schematics, work orders, and production schedules.
• Performs own visual and dimensional inspections using measuring instruments, to maintain quality levels.
• Operate basic shop machinery such as:
• Band saws
• Press brakes
• Punch machines
• Welders (MIG, TIG, stick welding, etc.) Not required but a plus
• Dispose of scrap and waste properly.
• Keep machinery and work area clean and orderly.
• Notification of supervisor of material shortages
• Willingness to cross train and perform the work of other job tasks when necessary.
• Other duties may apply

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Self-Motivated and can work in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and understand measuring tools and equipment such as a tape measure, calipers, and micrometer.
• Ability to safely operate overhead hoists/forklifts.
• Ability to work overtime as production demands require.
• Knowledge of safe lifting and ergonomic work practice.
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to multitask a plus
• Quick learner

Experience/Skills Requirements:

• Previous assembly experience preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to lift 25 pounds or more alone.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more in team lift operations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Fast-paced environment

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

Use of proper welding PPE

Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
