Position Summary
The Plumber on the manufacturing line is responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining plumbing components used in production. Familiarity with plumbing materials and systems is preferred. Employees are expected to work safely, accurately, and collaboratively to meet production goals, while maintaining high-quality output.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Plumbing Installation & Assembly
Install, fit, and assemble plumbing components according to production specifications.
Inspect and ensure all plumbing materials meet quality and safety standards.
Troubleshoot plumbing-related issues and assist in resolving problems on the production line.
Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely to complete tasks.
Operational & Safety Responsibilities
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Arrive on time and ensure the team is at their assigned workstations at the start of the shift.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines; always be safety conscious.
Work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with team members to complete projects on time.
Ensure team members work safely while maintaining high-quality output.
General Support
Complete additional tasks or projects assigned by the Production Supervisor.
Participate in cross-training in related production tasks to ensure adequate coverage, support workflow demands and enhance overall team flexibility.
Assist with troubleshooting mechanical or operational issues on the production line as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
Familiarity with plumbing materials and installation techniques is preferred.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools safely.
Ability to read measurements, blueprints, or diagrams related to plumbing systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Effective communication skills with supervisors and team members.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
No prior specific trade experience required; prior manufacturing or assembly experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Employees in this position must be able to perform the following physical activities as part of daily manufacturing operations:
Stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, twist, and reach for extended periods.
Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. routinely; heavier lifting may be required with assistance.
Perform repetitive motions, including reaching, grasping, handling tools, and manipulating small parts.
Safely use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and welding equipment as required.
Climb and work from ladders, platforms, or step stools as needed.
Work in environments that may be hot, cold, dusty, or noisy depending on the production area.
Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, welding shields, hearing protection, and other safety gear.
Maintain the ability to visually inspect materials and components and hear instructions, alarms, and safety signals.
