Description
The Campus Minister is a part-time, hourly position appointed by the President in collaboration with the Director of Catholic & Viatorian Identity. The Campus Minister reports directly to the Director of Catholic and Viatorian Identity and maintains regular communication with this office. Together, they ensure that faith formation, service projects, and mission-based programs are well-organized and faithfully reflect the school’s Catholic and Viatorian identity.
Specific Areas of Responsibility:
Encourages an environment for the community to contribute to the faith formation and spiritual needs of the students.
Assumes the primary responsibility to organize and implement all pastoral activities, including:
Provide an introduction about Campus Ministry to new teachers during orientation week.
Responsible for all Liturgies, including the “all-school masses throughout the year”; family masses, and other special masses/liturgies on the school calendar.
Work with the Office of Catholic and Viatorian Identity to plan the Baccalaureate Mass.
Plan all special prayer services, including Advent Wreath Blessing and Lenten Palm Service
Plan, organize and take primary lead for all class Spiritual Retreats (Freshman - Senior Retreats).
Plan and organize Catholic Schools Week activities, including Sunday Family Mass.
Organize and facilitate student participation in youth conferences and similar trips, based on student interest and availability.
Establish and direct the student campus ministry team.
Coordinate charitable initiatives such as food drives, monetary collections, and other donation efforts, especially during key times like Catholic Schools Week, to promote student engagement in service and social justice.
Collaborate with the Archdiocese of Las Vegas Events with CRSV student representatives, such as but not limited to All Catholic Schools Week Mass and Archdiocesan Chrism Mass
Engages in ongoing professional development.
Manages the campus ministry budget and oversees administrative protocols, including processing requisitions, obtaining event date approvals, maintaining calendars, and ensuring smooth coordination of ministry activities.
Works alongside the Theology department throughout school-wide events.
Performs other duties as assigned by the President and/or the Director of Catholic and Viatorian Identity.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience include:
Practicing Catholic with an undergraduate degree in theology, ministry, or a related field and/or demonstrated training expertise in ministry.
Ability to plan and implement ministry activities compliant with the mission, vision, and values of the school and the Viatorians.
Proven experience with youth in the classroom, ministry, community service and/or student life.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to collaborate and prioritize multiple projects and requests.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
