What we are looking for:

As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, CNS Healthcare's mission is to serve the people of our communities. The Program Manager of Psychological Services provides strategic leadership, clinical oversight, and program development for psychological services across the organization. This role ensures the quality, consistency, and compliance of psychological testing, specialized assessments, behavioral evaluation processes, and intervention planning.

Please Note: This position provides opportunities for some remote flexibility upon the successful completion of the training/onboarding period.

Compensation Range:

The starting salary for this position is $64,800 and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience.

  • Serve as a leader and role model for the organization in matters relating to the assigned service line(s) and ancillary supports.
  • Provide oversight and standardization of all psychological testing and evaluation services, ensuring adherence to best practices, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. Review and approve comprehensive psychological, ensuring accuracy, clinical relevance, and appropriate recommendations.
  • Oversee administration and interpretation of specialized assessments (e.g., cognitive, developmental, diagnostic, trauma-informed, adaptive functioning). Support clinical teams in complex diagnostic cases, differential diagnosis, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Provide direct clinical supervision to TLLPs and LLPs, ensuring compliance with Michigan licensure requirements. Support professional development, competency growth, and licensure advancement.
  • Provide leadership and consultation on Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs). Oversee development, implementation, and quality review of Behavior Treatment Plans (BTPs). Ensure alignment with Positive Behavior Support (PBS) and trauma-informed care principles. Participate in high-risk case reviews and interdisciplinary team planning.
  • Support the development of a structured internship training program for psychology students and trainees.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve psychological services programs. Develop standardized tools, workflows, and documentation templates. Identify service gaps and introduce new psychological service offerings.  Lead quality improvement initiatives and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure the compliance and successful execution of all service line requirements as outlined in provider contracts and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Medical Manual.
  • Oversee providers of sub-contracted services to assure compliance with all program requirements stipulated in contracts as assigned.
  •  Prepare, implement, and manage new and existing departmental processes, polices, and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective provision of services.
  • Establish and ensure direct service productivity and quality standards, as well as key performance standards for assigned service line(s).
  • Regularly assess the quality of work and operational metrics for assigned staff and make suggestions for continuous improvement including the development of team improvement goals.
  • Provide input and recommendations related to service line financial and budgetary considerations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners regarding resources and programs for improved services and staff development.
  • Complete all assigned reporting and projects within designated time frames.
  • Ensure documentation of attendance at required trainings is maintained for all assigned staff and available for review upon request.
  • Facilitate staff and external trainings as requested.
  • Provide clinical and administrative coverage to the department leadership team and other department staff as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with quality care initiatives including Meaningful Use (MU), Medicare Merit Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) requirements.
  • Ensure that the CNS Healthcare standards of service are applied to interactions with individuals served, guests, and staff.
  • Assume responsibility for professional growth by current reading and attendance at educational programs and conferences.
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with established policies and procedures, corporate compliance program, code of ethics, applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, HIPAA standards, and other regulatory programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent, recorded individual and/or group supervision per licensure requirements.
  • Organize and oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned team(s) to ensure appropriate coverage of responsibilities.
  • Educate, enforce, and ensure team compliance with CNS Healthcare policies and procedures.
  • Cultivate, maintain, and enhance team, department, and interdepartmental relationships to promote collaboration, teamwork, and a positive working environment.
  • Serve as a conduit of communication between direct reports, department leadership, and agency leadership.
  • Build a strong team by attracting, selecting, onboarding, and developing direct reports to retain high-performance team members and empower them to elevate their level of responsibility, span of control, and performance.
  • Serve as a role model, mentor, and coach in providing ongoing and consistent individual supervision that is focused on meeting individual productivity and performance goals, as well as departmental goals, objectives, and project deadlines.
  • Manage employee performance, including any verbal/written warnings and conducting employee evaluations to provide examples of behavior, ways for employees to improve performance, and development of goals for the coming year.
  • Lead assigned team in quality improvement initiatives and compliance with all quality improvement initiatives and standards to promote quality achievement across the organization.
  • Responsible for managing work schedules, time and attendance, paid time off, and mileage for assigned staff in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Required

  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology is required; AND
  • State licensure Licensed Psychologist (LP)
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role (i.e. Supervisor or Manager), overseeing mental/behavioral health staff in a clinical program
  • Qualified Mental Health Professional:
    • Specialized training (including fieldwork and/or internships associated with the academic curriculum where the student works directly with persons receiving mental health services as part of that experience), OR
    • At least 1 year of experience in treating or working with a person who has a mental illness
  • Intellectual and Developmental Disability Professional:
    • Possess or obtain Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) designation within 90 days of hire, and then maintain throughout employment
    • At least 1 year of experience involving the treatment of individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
  • At least 5 years of experience providing clinical services in a mental/behavioral healthcare setting
  • Proficient with computers, Microsoft office products (including Outlook, Word, and Excel), and electronic health records (EHRs)
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and supervise others with an emphasis on team building, organizing programs/service lines, and staff development
  • Ability to contribute to an inclusive environment that recognizes the value and contributions of all persons regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability
  • Ability to work closely with persons with mental or physical limitations
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively and build positive working relationships
  • Ability to use discretion and judgment when handling matters of a sensitive or confidential nature

  • Experience in overseeing and managing clinical projects and implementations
  • Experience in the community mental health setting
