The At-Risk Learning Specialist provides targeted, small-group literacy instruction to students struggling to meet grade-level standards. They are responsible for creating differentiated lessons and using academic data to pinpoint and resolve scholar needs.
Candidates must hold a NYS Teaching Certification or have two years of elementary literacy teaching experience. Proficiency in Fountas and Pinnell or a similar reading level system is required.

Summary of Role
The At-Risk Learning Specialist is a teacher who provides targeted, school-wide, small-group literacy instruction to scholars who are at-risk of not meeting grade level literacy standards. Like all Classical faculty (teachers), the At-Risk Learning Specialist shares the undying belief that maximizing student achievement is the primary goal.
