Position Overview

The Warehouse Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and controlled warehouse environment through vigilant observation, access monitoring, CCTV surveillance, and routine facility patrols. This role serves as a visible security presence to help protect employees, visitors, company assets, and facility operations.

The ideal candidate is highly observant, disciplined, and able to identify potential security risks before they escalate. Candidates with backgrounds in corrections, military service, law enforcement, security operations, or similar fields are strongly preferred due to the level of awareness, professionalism, and attention to detail required for this position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor employee, visitor, and vendor access entering and exiting the warehouse facility
• Maintain a visible security presence throughout warehouse operations
• Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and identify suspicious activity, safety concerns, or policy violations
• Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols of the warehouse, parking areas, and surrounding premises
• Observe employee activity and ensure compliance with security procedures and company policies
• Document and report security incidents, safety concerns, theft concerns, or unusual activity
• Complete detailed security logs, incident reports, and documentation as required
• Assist leadership with security investigations through observation, documentation, and CCTV review
• Help protect company property, equipment, inventory, and employee safety
• Respond appropriately to security concerns and escalate issues to management or emergency services when necessary
• Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations, employees, and security procedures

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in corrections, military, law enforcement, security operations, loss prevention, or a related field preferred
• Strong situational awareness and ability to recognize potential risks or threats
• Highly vigilant with excellent observation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and composed in challenging situations
• Strong communication and written documentation skills
• Ability to follow established security procedures and protocols
• Comfortable using computers, CCTV systems, and security monitoring equipment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to conduct routine facility patrols
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
• Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout scheduled shifts
