What We Are Looking For
The Senior Finance Specialist is a senior individual contributor role responsible for owning and executing financial close, consolidation, and reporting processes for multiple Ceres US legal entities from the India GCC. The role requires deep US GAAP technical knowledge, hands-on experience with project accounting and job costing, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Beyond BAU ownership, this role will periodically lead or support the transition of new controllership workstreams into the GCC — including scoping, SOP development, parallel runs, and steady-state handoff.
What You Will Do
Financial Close & Consolidation
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple legal entities
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and period-end adjustments
Own the consolidation process — intercompany eliminations, minority interest adjustments, and group-level reporting
Ensure close timelines are met consistently and exceptions are escalated proactively
Project Accounting & Job Costing
Oversee accounting for project-based contracts including percentage-of-completion (POC) revenue recognition
Maintain job cost ledgers — labour, materials, subcontractor, and overhead allocations
Reconcile project actuals to budgets and flag variances to project and operations teams
Support WIP schedule preparation and review
Intercompany & Multi-entity Accounting
Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations across entities, business units, and joint ventures
Ensure intercompany balances are agreed and cleared within each close cycle
Maintain entity-level balance sheet hygiene across the group
US GAAP Compliance & Audit Support
Ensure all accounting activities comply with US GAAP standards relevant to the group's operations
Prepare audit-ready schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for internal and external audits
Act as the primary India-side contact for audit queries on assigned workstreams
Reporting & Analysis
Prepare monthly management reporting packs including P&L, balance sheet, and variance commentary
Support budget vs. actuals reporting and contribute to forecast cycles as required
Contribute to working capital and cash flow reporting
Transitions & SOP Development
Lead or support migration of controllership processes from US teams into the GCC
Develop detailed SOPs, process maps, and RACI frameworks for transitioned workstreams
Manage parallel run periods and ensure sign-off from global finance leads before steady-state handoff
Team & Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with US-based Controllers, CFO, and entity finance leads
Mentor and review the work of junior Finance team members in India
Communicate proactively on close status, risks, and escalations
Required Qualifications
CA Inter / CPA / MBA Finance from a reputed institution
8–12 years of progressive finance experience with a strong controllership or technical accounting focus
Prior experience supporting US entities from an India GCC or shared services environment
Deep working knowledge of US GAAP — revenue recognition (ASC 606), project accounting, consolidation
Demonstrated experience with multi-entity close, intercompany reconciliation, and consolidation
Strong ERP proficiency — NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent
Excellent written and verbal communication for senior US stakeholder interaction
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred: Experience with Trimble / Vista ERP (Candidates with Vista / Trimble experience are strongly encouraged to highlight this in their application)
Background in construction, environmental services, or project-based contract businesses
Prior experience leading F&A transitions or GCC process migrations
Big 4 or mid-tier audit/consulting background with F&A transformation exposure
What to Expect
This is not a steady-state reporting role. The right candidate will be someone who can walk into an undefined situation, structure it, and hand it off in better shape than they found it — while simultaneously being rigorous enough to own complex accounting when embedded. If you have been a finance generalist who is tired of narrow roles, this is built for breadth.
