Where You’ll Work

Ambulatory Care at Penrose Home Health services a 60-mile radius from our office here in Colorado Springs. Our interdisciplinary team includes skilled nursing, physical/occupational/speech therapy, social work and CNAs. We care for a diverse population of patients, aged 18 and above and deliver skilled care in the patient's home environment. Skilled nursing addresses a wide variety of patient education such as medications and disease processes, as well as direct skills including wound care, ostomy teaching and IV/PICC infusion. We strive to deliver exceptional care and educate patients on how to manage their health conditions at home. The flexibility in home health is second to none. Our clinicians self-schedule their caseload, working around their own and the patient's schedule. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Activities Associate, you will assist in the planning, organization, and directing of activity programs for the facility population. You will prepare reports on the assigned population’s progress as may be required.

 

Every day, activities may include sports, dramatics, nature study, social activities, games, and arts and crafts in accordance with patient/resident needs. You will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents and patients by fostering engagement, promoting well-being, and creating a stimulating and supportive environment through diverse programming.

 

To be successful in your role, you will creatively assist in the planning, organization, and direction of diverse activity programs tailored to the needs of our facility population. You will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, a compassionate approach, and the ability to effectively engage participants in a variety of activities, while meticulously reporting on their progress to enhance overall well-being and contribute to their comprehensive care.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Valid Driver License
• Basic Life Support certification 

Physical RequirementsSedentary work - prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10 lbs. force occasionally

 

Preferred

• Colorado Activity Professional Certificate
• Certified Nurse Aide (C.N.A.) experience
• One (1) year experience in a patient, recreational or activities program

The hours for this position are 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, including every other weekend and some holidays. Experience with recreational programming is preferred.
