Responsible for patron surveillance and safety in the aquatics area, including general maintenance and cleaning of equipment. The role involves enforcing pool rules and responding to emergency situations while maintaining accurate incident reports.
Must be at least 16 years old and hold a current lifeguard certification from StarGuard ELITE, American Red Cross, or Elias and Associates. Candidates must pass a physical skills test involving swimming, treading water, and brick retrieval.

Under direct supervision of Head Lifeguards, and all full-time Aquatics staff (Specialist, Coordinator, Supervisor) the Lifeguard position is responsible for patron surveillance and safety including general maintenance, cleaning and inspection of equipment in the Aquatics area of the Carbon Valley Recreation Center.

Requirements
Equipment Use: Regular use of office equipment (computer, copier, scanner, printer, phones), software (Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Word, Excel, CivicPlus, Paylocity), and operational tools (first aid supplies, chemical testing kits, pumps/motors, safety devices, and PPE).
Physical and Sensory Requirements: Moderate physical activity, including walking, sitting, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, swimming, climbing ladders, and lifting/carrying/exerting up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity and hearing are required for reading documents, operating equipment, answering phones, and effective communication.
Environmental Conditions: Exposure to varying temperatures, weather, odors, noise, dust, chemicals, and confined spaces.
