Full job description

Stylish, grounded, uplifting – these values live through everything we do at Boden. Without the collaboration, honesty and friendship between our teams, we wouldn’t be where we are today. We curate a world of beauty that’s ethical, inclusive – and importantly – good fun. We inspire you to live your best life. We are Boden.

Overview:

Manage, lead and motivate a team of employees through daily activities ensuring customer returns are processed accurately and refurbished to the Boden brand expectations.  Assist the warehouse managers in creating and maintaining the Boden culture that supports and encourages training and cross-functional teams.

Location: 180 Armstrong Road, Pittston PA 18640

Schedule: Monday - Friday 6am - 2:30pm

How We Lead at Boden:

Being a manager at Boden is about giving people clarity, backing them properly, and helping them do their best work. You make things make sense. You take big ideas and turn them into clear priorities, so people know what they’re doing and (most importantly) why it matters. Your communication is clear and open - you listen and you don’t overcomplicate things. You take responsibility. When big decisions need to be made, you make them. When things change, you adapt. And when things don’t go to plan, you own it and move things forward. You stay close to what matters - our customer, our brand and our goals - using that to guide decisions and keep teams aligned. Most importantly, you build a team people actually want to be part of - where people feel trusted, supported and able to grow.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensure customer returns are processed in line with established departmental metrics and reflect the Boden brand expectations
  • Collaborate with Contact Center to ensure customer journey expectations are met by raising issues and discussing areas of improvement
  • Identify and raise any carrier issues
  • Ensure departmental tasks are carried out by assigning and overseeing team performance
  • Provide daily direction and communication to employees to ensure key department metrics are met
  • Effectively manage staffing levels based on available work, working in conjunction with other Team Leaders to best utilize talent across the warehouse
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the departmental Senior or Senior-in-Training, if applicable
  • Hold employees accountable to policies by identifying and addressing violations by delivering disciplines following guidance from HR
  • Handle termination discussions and leaver forms following guidance from HR
  • Maintain time and attendance tracking and reporting accurately for department employees
  • Ensure accurate records of hours, KPI, and productivity data are calculated and reported in a timely manner
  • Actively coach team members and provide feedback to meet and exceed productivity expectations
  • Follow and deliver on the Boden leadership behaviors of a people manager
  • Create and maintain a high-quality work environment to encourage team members to perform at their highest level
  • Establish work procedures and processes that support the company, departmental standards and strategic directives
  • Collaborate and effectively communicate with fellow Team Leaders and Managers regarding cross-functional needs and issues including staffing, shared work functions and employee issues
  • Meet with direct reports regularly, off the floor, to discuss employee performance, departmental metrics and goals, and to keep an open line of communication
  • Conduct and deliver effective and meaningful performance evaluations
  • Actively engage in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities
  • Interview and select prospective employees for open warehouse positions
  • Ensure adequate training for all new hires is provided
  • Maintain consistent and reliable presence for team and operations during scheduled shifts
  • Use appropriate judgement in upward communication regarding departmental or employee concerns
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all Boden teams
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled and impromptu meetings
  • Participate as an active and positive team member in all areas, improving efficiencies
  • Ensure and support compliance of occupational health and safety guidelines, processes and procedures
  • Other related duties as needed and/or assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year in a Senior Warehouse Associate role or equivalent
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Adaptable and open to change
  • Ability to work in changing and fast paced environment
  • Flexible working hours

Our Behaviors:

  • At Boden, how we work matters just as much as what we deliver.
  • We keep things simple. We say what we mean, keep each other in the loop, and follow through on what we’ve said we’ll do.
  • We care about doing a good job - and we care about each other. We’re always kind, often honest, and we will push for high standards without making it heavy.
  • We know what we’re good at, we lean on each other when needed, and we show up as a team - taking ownership and getting things done together.

We’re all about happiness you can wear. Our story begins in 1991. Contrarian. How else would you describe a man who left a good job in the city – working in New York during its shiny ’80s heyday no less – to set up a mail-order clothes company at a time when buying things that got delivered was considered a bit, well, joke-worthy? Or was he just lucky – right time, right place, right instinct? Johnnie launched Boden with a hand-drawn catalogue featuring eight menswear styles he wanted in his own wardrobe (and wanted to order from his armchair). That was 1991, and back then, catalogues for stylish people who like stylish clothes weren’t really a ‘thing’ in Britain. Today, after a wild, unpredictable and exciting 30 years, Boden is a global company but it still has the same family vibes. It’s the opinion of the women in his life – his wife Sophie (who pushed him to follow his dream in the first place), his three discerning daughters and Johnnie’s new lovely female sidekick – Janet the dog – that he values over anything. Originality is also so very important, with every step taken to set Boden apart from the rest. Whether that’s hand-drawn prints, doing our best to make sure we don’t cut corners and even listing words we cannot use (we copywriters love a challenge). Attention to detail is everything, and it shows. Johnnie has also been adamant that every factory we use respects its workforce in the same way he respects his workforce at home. And that Boden uses as many recycled materials as possible. “His main piece of advice is always be yourself,” his daughter Katie adds. “I think we’re all flawed but that’s the one thing that we [the family] are – very honest. I just think you can’t go wrong by being honest.” And lastly? “He’s also never tried to be cool…which makes him cool.” Boden isn’t about fast fashion and fads. It never was. It’s about making clothes that put a smile on your face, for a long, long time.
