Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.

Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.

Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.

Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.

Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.

Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

To be successful as a “Automation QA engineer ", you should have experience with:

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

Strong hands-on experience in manual/automation functional testing, regression testing, and end‑to‑end validation.

Hands-on experience on Shell scripting/Python/Java to support QA automation.

Proven experience building and maintaining automation frameworks for: Web (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress), API (Karate, RestAssured, Cucumber)

Strong experience writing: Unit tests, integration tests, and automated regression suites

Solid understanding of: BDD, Test design techniques, test coverage, and defect lifecycle

Strong experience with GitLab/Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and test execution automation.

Hands-on scripting or development experience in Java or Python (ability to support dev teams when needed).

Understanding of relational DB or NoSQL DB and PL/SQL and experience with Unix systems

Experience working with API tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar.

Minimum Qualification – bachelor’s degree.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

Knowledge of investment banking and trade processing systems

Knowledge of microservices testing, event-driven systems, and messaging middleware.

Experience with monitoring/observability tools: Splunk, ELK, AppDynamics (or similar)

Experience supporting non-production environments and test environment triage.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and ability to work across global teams.

Ability to drive quality strategy and promote automation-first culture.

Strong time-management and ability to handle multiple, parallel workstreams.

Scrum Alliance – Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe – Product Owner/ Product.

This role will be based out of Pune.
