Ensure electrical works on-site are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards. Supervise installations, monitor quality, and coordinate with project teams to resolve technical issues.
Requires a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). A minimum of 5 years of experience in site supervision for electrical services is required.
As an Inspector of Works (Electrical) at Aurecon, you will be responsible for ensuring that electrical works on-site are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards. You will support the Resident Engineer and project team in delivering high-quality outcomes.
Carry out day-to-day site inspections and supervision of electrical installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and relevant Malaysian codes and standards.
Monitor the quality of electrical works, workmanship, and materials, ensuring installations meet QA/QC requirements and project specifications.
Review electrical drawings, shop drawings, method statements, material submissions, and technical documents, highlighting discrepancies and coordinating timely resolutions.
Witness and document inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with project and statutory requirements.
Monitor the installation of electrical systems including HT/LV power distribution, substations, transformers, generators, lighting, earthing and lightning protection, UPS, and ELV systems where applicable.
Identify and report non-conformance issues, issue site instructions or inspection reports where required, and follow up on corrective actions.
Verify contractor work progress, assist in the evaluation of progress claims, variation works, and ensure completed works are in accordance with project requirements.
Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports, daily site diaries, progress updates, testing records, and as-built documentation.
Coordinate closely with Resident Engineers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and relevant authorities to resolve technical and construction issues.
Attend site coordination meetings, safety briefings, inspections, and technical discussions, providing regular updates on project progress, quality, and compliance.
Ensure all electrical works are carried out in accordance with safety regulations, permit requirements, and company HSE standards.
Travel between project sites as required and possess a valid driving licence.
Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as an Inspector of Works (Electrical) or Inspector of Works (Engineering).
Minimum 5 years of experience in site supervision of electrical services, preferably on industrial, manufacturing, institutional, pharmaceutical, data centre, commercial, or mission-critical developments.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services, including HT/LV power distribution, substations, transformers, generators, lighting, earthing and lightning protection, UPS, and ELV systems.
Familiar with local authority requirements, Malaysian codes and standards, testing & commissioning, QA/QC processes, and construction best practices.
Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors, consultants, clients, and project teams.
Possess a valid driving licence and be willing to travel to project sites as required.
