Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities
The P&D Generalist supports the day-to-day operations of the P&D function across North America and works closely with the NALA P&D Lead to provide a positive and consistent employee experience. This role supports key employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding and offboarding, leave and accommodation administration, benefits administration, HR systems maintenance, and compliance-related processes. The position also serves as a resource for employees and managers, helping ensure P&D processes are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and applicable employment requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support for People & Development programs across North America, including benefits administration, leave tracking, onboarding, offboarding, employee engagement initiatives, and employee lifecycle activities.
Administer employee leaves of absence and workplace accommodations, including tracking leave status, coordinating required documentation, partnering with internal stakeholders, and supporting compliance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and company requirements.
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, providing guidance and support while partnering with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure a positive employee experience.
Respond to routine employee and manager inquiries and escalate complex matters to the appropriate People & Development team member.
Provide administrative and operational support to the NALA People & Development Lead, including coordinating onboarding sessions, meetings, training programs, employee-related events, and ensuring timely follow-up on inquiries and action items.
Coordinate and support onboarding and offboarding processes to deliver a seamless and engaging employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
Maintain the accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and organization of employee data, files, records, and documentation across all North America People & Development systems and platforms, ensuring information remains accurate, compliant, and up to date.
Process employee changes and updates, including compensation adjustments, job changes, reporting line updates, leave administration, employment documentation, and HRIS transactions.
Support compliance-related activities, including policy acknowledgements, training completion tracking, audits, recordkeeping, and employment documentation reviews to ensure alignment with applicable employment legislation and company policies.
Assist with employee relations documentation and maintain accurate records while supporting the NALA People & Development Lead with administrative follow-up activities.
Prepare and maintain reports, dashboards, and people-related metrics to support compliance requirements, operational needs, workforce planning activities, and People & Development initiatives.
Prepare reports and maintain People & Development data to support reporting and workforce analytics.
Support the review, development, and ongoing enhancement of People & Development processes, policies, workflows, and documentation to drive operational efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Payroll, Finance, Talent Acquisition, IT, and business leaders to support People operations and organizational initiatives.
Contribute to special projects and broader People & Development initiatives as required.
Exercise the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgment at all times.
Key Requirements & Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources, People & Development, or a related field.
Foundational knowledge of U.S. Human Resources principles, employment practices, and federal, state, and local employment regulations.
Preferred knowledge of Canadian Human Resources principles and applicable federal and provincial employment legislation.
Demonstrated experience administering employee leaves of absence, accommodations, and related employee support processes.
Hands-on experience coordinating and managing onboarding and offboarding activities.
Working knowledge of Human Resources processes, including employee lifecycle administration, HRIS management, employee records, benefits administration, and compliance support.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research routine HR-related questions and escalate complex matters as needed.
Comfortable working in an administrative and operationally focused environment with a high volume of requests, transactions, and competing priorities.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively across all levels of the organization.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with exceptional time management, prioritization, and follow-through skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively with guidance from senior People & Development team members.
Strong sense of professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and discretion when handling sensitive employee and company information.
Experience working with HRIS platforms and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Willingness to work Eastern or Central time zone hours
