The Paralegal reviews incoming claim packets for RECA claims to ensure all required documentation is present and processed according to SOPs. They are responsible for maintaining case files, conducting basic legal research, and communicating with claimants and case teams.
Requires a paralegal certificate, a year of ABA-accredited law school, or equivalent college education/legal training. Candidates must have at least one year of litigation paralegal experience and be able to obtain MRPT facility credentials, which requires US citizenship.
The Paralegal role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of incoming materials supporting claims filed under Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA). Following SOPs, checklists, and desk references, the Paralegal will review incoming claim packets to ensure required documents are present for the claim to proceed and be reviewed at higher levels. Communicates with the case team and with claimants to help collect needed documents.
This position is responsible for following specific guidance and standard operation procedures to:
Required
*Employees will earn H&W dollars per eligible hour (including vacation and holiday up to 40 hours/week). H&W monies are used to offset the employer’s cost of benefits the employee elects into and/or utilizes. Any remaining health and welfare monies after all applicable deductions would be cashed out to the employee on a 1 pay period lag.
This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
