Description

Responsible for general appearance and cleanliness of the physical property including building interiors and exteriors, common areas, amenity areas, office and grounds. The above list reflects the general details necessary to describe the principle and essential functions of the position and shall not be construed as the only duties that may be assigned for the position. This position requires some travel as necessary to varies properties in the market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a positive rapport with residents. 
  • Maintain cleanliness of all common areas (pick up trash, vacuum, clean floors, walls, wipe down hard surfaces and fixtures, mopping, sweeping, dusting).
  • Maintain cleanliness of building exteriors (trash, window washing, etc.). 
  • Cleaning of vacant units for Apartment turns.
  • Assist Maintenance staff as needed.
  • Facilitates best safety practices and compliance and provides an appropriately consistent approach to health, safety, and environmental issues. 
  • Adhere to all Fair Housing laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  1. Education and/or Experience
  2. High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  3. Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
  4. Language Skills 
  5. Ability to communicate clearly with the others orally and in writing. 
  6. Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
  7. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees 
  8. Mathematical Skills 
  9. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  10. Computer Skills 
  11. Experience with computers and/or tablets with the ability to utilize email is required. 
  12. Reasoning Ability 
  13. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  
  14. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds regularly, more on occasion. 
  • Ability to frequently, walk steps, climb ladders, scaffolding, ramps, etc. 
  • Frequent kneeling, crouching, stooping, or bending. 
  • Ability to work safely in high places following all company policies and procedures. 
  • Frequent reaching and extending of arms and hands, to include overhead work. 
  • Frequent handling of items of various sizes and weights. Must be able to seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with one or both hands. 
  • Duties may require contact with human and/or animal waste; proper safety precautions must be taken. 

The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/ cold, wet/ humid, and dry/ arid conditions as needed. Frequently required to wear personal protective equipment. Noise levels will vary from quiet to excessive levels.
