Responsibilities

Perform routine lubrication and preventative maintenance on rolling mill equipment, overhead cranes, and mobile machinery. Ensure safety compliance through Lockout/Tagout procedures and maintain accurate maintenance records via computer data entry.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma and 1-2 years of related mechanical experience. Candidates must be able to work at high elevations, in confined spaces, and provide their own basic hand tools.

Full job description

 

Job Summary

In this position you will be expected to be self-motivated to complete assignments in

a safe and timely manner. Daily assignments will consist of but not limited to

greasing all types of equipment including mobile equipment, all parts of the rolling

mill, overhead cranes, flattening press, planer mill and burning machines.

Maintaining the proper oil level in all types of equipment, changing filters, and taking

oil samples. You will be required to work in confined spaces. You must be able to

operate a manlift and wear all the proper fall protection.

Supervisory Responsibilities

 None

General Responsibilities

 Be familiar with all safety rules.

 Lockout/Tagout Procedure

 Use of proper PPE

 Computer and control screen knowledge

 Familiar with all parts of work order

 Complete all paperwork and data entry.

 Proper lubrication of overhead cranes.

 Complete PM’s and maintain proper lubrication schedules on all types of

equipment throughout the plant.

 Installing, threading, and sizing of pipe and fittings.

 Replacing/Changing all types of filters on Various types of equipment.

 Welding and Fabricating Recommended.

 Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to

do about it.

 Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine and preventative maintenance on

equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

 Knowledge of machine controls.

 Use of power and hand tools.

 Operating fork trucks, skid steer, and manlift.

 Maintaining a clean and safe work area.

 Basic shop math skills.

 Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do

a job.

 Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related

information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

 Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in

work related documents.

 Must be able to work at high elevations.

 Will be required to work in confined spaces.

 Must provide your own basic hand tools.

 Will be required to assist millwrights and Electricians as needed.

 Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment

 Complete quickly and safely to various tasks

 Use various types of hand and power tools

 The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time

 Input various types of data into computer system.

 Verify all paperwork associated with P.M. schedules is correct.

Job Qualifications

 Education: High school diploma preferred

 Experience: 1-2 years of related experience preferred

 Maneuver a shop floor

Work Schedule
