General Position Summary:

 The Worker's Compensation Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the management and administration of worker's compensation claims within the healthcare and social assistance industry. This position ensures that all claims are accurately documented, processed, and followed up in compliance with relevant laws and organizational policies. The assistant collaborates closely with injured employees, healthcare providers, insurance carriers, and internal departments to facilitate timely and effective claim resolution. By maintaining detailed records and tracking claim statuses, the role helps minimize organizational risk and supports employee well-being. Ultimately, the Worker's Compensation Coordinator contributes to a smooth and efficient claims process that upholds both regulatory standards and compassionate care for affected workers. 

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the intake and documentation of worker's compensation claims, ensuring all necessary information is collected accurately.

  • Communicate with injured employees to provide updates, gather additional information, and offer support throughout the claims process.

  • Coordinate with healthcare providers and insurance carriers to verify treatment plans, claim statuses, and payment details.

  • Maintain and update detailed records of all claims in the organization's tracking system, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements.

  • Prepare reports and correspondence related to claims, and escalate complex issues to the Worker's Compensation Manager or legal team as needed.

  • Support audits and investigations by providing accurate claim documentation and responding to inquiries.

  • Collaborate with human resources and safety teams to promote injury prevention and return-to-work programs.

    

Secondary Functions:

  • Answer questions, transfer calls to providers and clinics if appropriate, and facilitate new and rescheduling of appointments using our EMR.

  • Coordinate work with the Clinic as appropriate.

  • Delegate work to Clinic Front Desk staff as appropriate and with approval of Clinic Managers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.

  • Experience in administrative support or claims processing, preferably within worker's compensation or insurance environments.

  • Basic knowledge of worker's compensation laws and healthcare terminology.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience using claims management software.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Worker's Compensation or related field (e.g., Certified Work Comp Professional).

  • Experience working in the healthcare or social assistance industry.

  • Familiarity with state-specific worker's compensation regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to analyze claim data to identify trends and support process improvements.

Schedule & Location

  • The position will require you to float between our Beaverton and Hillsboro clinics to accommodate business needs.
  • Mon - Fri 8am - 4:30pm
