Activities and societies: Middle East Society, secretary; Hung Ga Kung Fu Society, secretary Created individualised degree in Arabic and Archaeology. Participated in a dig for the National Museum of Scotland of a carbonized (burnt) Late Roman settlement in northern Scotland, as well as surveys in MidLothian. Studied Egyptian Arabic in Cairo and research a report for Archaeology (on the possible causes for the transition to agriculture in Ancient Egypt). My Masters' dissertation was a 12,000 word case study examining the effects of taphonomy on survival of human remains in burial sites of prehistoric Cyprus (2:1). The project compares sub-adult human remains catalogued among various burial practices, soil qualities, region-specific expected preservation quality, and find recovery tactics as a way to "clean" the data and holistically study prehistoric lifeways and population health. Courses included Early Arabic Historical Texts, Animal and Human Remains,Theoretical Archaeology, and Arabic, a language-based course of Modern Standard Arabic on multiple themes.
