Akshay Sharma

My passion for technology can be traced back to my early childhood. Exploring the multifaceted world of technology and solving complex puzzles and riddles has become second nature for me. Once I began coding during my junior year of high school, I knew that a career in software engineering was the path for me. During my post secondary education I earned my BS in computer science from Georgia State University, followed by my Masters of Science in Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In addition, I understand the rapidly changing and expansive world of technology requires on-going professional development. Henceforth, I took on several internships, attending hackathons, and built a multitude of tech-based side projects. Most recently, I took on the role of founding engineer at a startup. The ability to use my expertise at an early stage venture and drive value for the business has been extremely rewarding, and reminds me of why I entered this field to begin with. Overall, my philosophy is that technology is an essential tool in the modern world, which can and should be used to create a more efficient and just world.
