JOB SUMMARY

The Forklift Operator/Laborer performs general labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, moving, and re-palletizing materials in a safe and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Operate assigned forklift equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Understand and follow all Federal, State, Local, and Corporate safety regulations and policies.
  • Complete daily equipment inspection reports and notify supervisor of any problems.
  • Gather materials together in logical order and arrange in locations for shipment.
  • Load and unload materials on various styles of trucks.
  • Work with Supervisors, CSR’s, and Sales to ensure the accuracy of every load.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Prior forklift operation experience required.
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand detailed instructions on picking and/or loading tickets.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies.
  • The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements.
  • Capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery. 

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES

  • Capable of climbing in and out of assigned equipment repetitively.
  • Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 90 pounds.
