Position Purpose: Analyze, prepare and organize companywide property tax filings and business licenses for all XTRA locations. Assist with other federal and state tax issues and filings.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Update, analyze and prepare property tax filings, respond to assessment notices and setup required payments.
• Update property tax comparisons for previous years to calculate monthly accruals.
• Prepare month end adjusting journal entries.
• Prepare yearly business and dealer license renewals for all branches.
• Prepare annual reports for all jurisdictions.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations related to other tasks and responsibilities.
• Assist with the sales & use tax reporting function.
• Assist with special tax projects.
• Assist with tax audits.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, with any tax/accounting experience a plus. Multi-state tax experience also a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Attention to detail; organization of numerous files; tracking multiple sets of deadlines
• Ability to scrutinize, clarify, and track processes to ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness.
• Strong track record of carrying projects through entire lifecycle.
• Ability to operate Windows based programs including Excel and Word. Also comfortable learning additional software utilized by XTRA.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and at the same time while ensuring accuracy of work generated.
• Ability to effectively express ideas or information verbally and through writing.
• Basic knowledge of accounting concepts.
• Knowledge of multi-state tax concepts.
• Ability to perform tax research.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions: Full time in office. Standard office environment.
Salary and Benefits:
Full-time exempt salary of $70,000-$78,000 (exact rate to be determined based on an individual candidate's relevant work experience, skillset, and educational background.)
