Participates in a Translation team, bringing to the team expertise in Biblical Exegesis and (normally) Biblical languages. Gains experience in a host language and culture.

Position Responsibilities:

Participates in a Translation team, bringing to the team expertise in Biblical Exegesis and (normally) Biblical languages, involved in: - Helping the team prepare text for translation (explaining nuances of meaning, implications from Biblical Background, etc.) - Working with back translation to help verify the accuracy of the translation - Helping in the revision process by raising questions and supplying exegetical insight. Gains experience in the host language and culture.

KSA Competency:

Education and Experience:

BA or higher degree in Bible and/or Exegesis helpful or equal experience

Good understanding of Language and Culture Acquisition, Translation Principles and Cultural Anthropology

Basic understanding of Sociolinguistics, Syntax, Discourse Studies, Scripture Use

Expertise in Biblical Exegesis

Knowledge of Greek and/or Hebrew

Previous multicultural experience helpful
