About this role
Primary Objective of Position: The Salesforce Engineer owns the design, delivery, integration, administration, and optimization of the Winnebago Motorhome Salesforce platform. This techno-functional role translates business needs into scalable Salesforce solutions, supports enterprise integrations, and presents solution strategy, risks, and recommendations to senior leaders to enable informed decision-making.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Project Delivery & Development
- Design, develop, test, and deploy Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, and platform capabilities.
- Lead technical delivery of Salesforce projects from requirements through deployment.
- Support integrations using MuleSoft, APIs, Platform Events, and other enterprise integration technologies.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews, providing recommendations for scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions.
- Operate independently through ambiguous or complex work, balancing business priorities, technical constraints, and delivery timelines.
- Support Agile planning, estimation, and sprint execution.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce development standards.
- Manage Salesforce environments, deployments, source control, and CI/CD processes.
Application Support
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues and provide advanced user support.
- Partner with stakeholders to prioritize defects, enhancements, and continuous improvement opportunities based on business impact.
- Apply techno-functional expertise to understand business processes, assess platform impacts, and recommend practical Salesforce solutions.
- Maintain Salesforce security, data integrity, and system performance.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes through automation and platform enhancements.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, testing artifacts, and solution designs.
- Train and mentor designated business users and citizen administrators on approved Salesforce configuration, data management and administrative activities.
- Promote Salesforce best practices, governance standards, and user adoption across the organization.
- Evaluate new Salesforce releases, features, and emerging technologies for business value and platform optimization.
- Generate test plans, create test cases, and maintain changes in appropriate test environments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Critical Competencies
- Strong experience with Salesforce Platform development including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, and Lightning Experience.
- Experience implementing enterprise integrations using MuleSoft, REST APIs, Platform Events, and middleware technologies.
- Proficiency in SOQL, SQL, and data analysis techniques.
- Proficiency with Salesforce DX, Git, Azure DevOps, JIRA, Gearset, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps best practices.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce security model, sharing, permissions, and governance.
- Experience leading technical project delivery and mentoring development teams.
- Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical topics for business stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Ability to present solution options, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations clearly to cross-functional teams and senior leadership audiences.
- Knowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Industry Clouds (such as Automotive Cloud) preferred.
- Ability to evaluate Salesforce platform features and emerging technologies for practical business value.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-8+ years Salesforce application development experience.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce administration, configuration, security, and data management.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification preferred. Salesforce Administrator, Platform Developer II, App Builder, and MuleSoft certifications are a plus.
- Experience designing and implementing Salesforce solutions utilizing Flow, MuleSoft, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience leading projects and providing technical guidance to development teams.
- Experience working within Agile software delivery environments.
This posting includes a range of the salary across a geographical market. The base pay for this position ranges from $77,000.00/year in our lowest geographic market up to $104,000.00/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
