Authority

  • The Chief Engineer is in charge of the technical operations of the vessel
  • In charge of safe management of engine room operations and maintenances
  • Co-Ordinator for shipboard anti-pollution activities

Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the capacity of Chief Engineer or other relevant experience from the Cruise Industry
  • Valid class Chief Engineer license and certificates according to STCW 95 as amended
  • Good knowledge about maritime rules and regulations (SOLAS, STCW, MARPOL, MLC)
  • Good knowledge of PMS and inventory management.
  • Great leadership skills
  • Great communication skills
  • Fluent command in English
  • Great interpersonal skills and good team leading ability
  • Good references
  • As part of our hiring process, candidates will undergo standard pre-employment checks, including medical and drug/alcohol testing

Beneficial experiences:

  • Experience from cruise vessels operating on international itineraries
  • Experience from new built and/or site team or project work
  • Experience in sailing under NIS flag
  • BASSNET
  • USCG, USPH knowledge.
  • Fluent command in a Scandinavian language
