We are currently searching for a Registered Nurse to work in the Health Center. In this role, the RN is responsible to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with state and federal standards. This position reports to the Director of Nursing.
Schedule: Part-time position, 20-30 hours per week, Weekdays and Weekends availability | 1st shift-7am to 3pm
Essential position functions:
- Manage all admissions and discharges that occur on the day shift
- Meet with each Med nurse to review day case load and special responsibilities
- Review all new admissions from previous day to ensure admission check list is completed
- Complete or verify completion of daily skilled documentation for all Med A residents that were assigned for day team
- Review labs and x-rays and ensure all have been addressed
- Complete all skin inspections and Braden inspections according to schedule
- Review doctor’s orders for new and current residents; ensure that care is being provided based on current orders.
- Coordinate care through communication with resident’s family members, physicians, and other health care providers.
Qualifications:
- Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse.
- Must be CPR Certified.
Experience:
- One year of long term care desirable. Home Health, Emergency Room experience helpful. Also experience working with developmentally disabled adults.
Required Skills:
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate, and quality nursing care to patients.
- Ability to administer medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with physician orders.
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions.
- Ability to learn computer programs as defined by Westminster Communities of Florida
