The mine is located a short drive from Wawa, deep in the forest where it is scenic and quiet. It is a real ‘boots on the ground’ setting. Team members reside in a camp environment and typically work on rotations, depending on the position. The camp offers excellent food, a sauna/gym, recreational room and the opportunity to stay connected with family and friends.
Salary Range: $36.44 to $44.87

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Mine Supervisor, the Jumbo Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating drilling equipment in support of underground mine development activities. This role plays a critical part in achieving development targets while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

You are a safety-driven underground mining professional with strong experience operating jumbo drills in a hard rock mining environment. You have a solid understanding of underground development practices, including face preparation, drilling accuracy, ground control, and safe blasting procedures. You take pride in producing quality work while maintaining compliance with company procedures and mining regulations.
Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Job Duties
- Visually inspect, sound, scale and wash down work area, check for bootlegs and miss holes, flag lifters and mark bootlegs with paint.
- Inspects, scales, rock bolts, screens and straps to achieve control of ground.
- Checks condition of travel way, work area, and equipment and corrects any unsafe conditions.
- Checks and lubricates LHD vehicle, bolting machine, jumbo drill and other machinery common to mining, and services with fuel, oils, coolants, etc.
- Assess ground conditions at the face and verify ground control measures in place according to mine ground support design.
- Capable of following line and grade according to engineering prints.
- Mark face according to face dimensions, drilling pattern and orientation of drill holes.
- Align drill on line and on grade and drill to the engineered dimensions.
- Install barricades to restrict access to work area(s) and to prevent access to rotating equipment.
- Complete daily reports on equipment and workplace and submit written and verbal reports to supervisor.
- Ability to safely operate a scoop tram to muck rounds, prep faces and load rounds
- Place barricades/guards at all entrances to the blast, initiate blast according to project standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating Jumbo Drill in an underground mining environment.
- Relevant Hard Rock Underground Common Core modules required.
- Must be competent in reading, understanding, and working with blueprints.
- Good communication skills.
Working Conditions / Schedule
Location: Eagle River Complex
Shift / Hours of Work: 10-hour shifts
Schedule / Rotation: 14 days on, 14 days off
Type of Hire: Permanent Full-Time
