Role Overview
Wee Care Corp is hiring Direct Care Providers to deliver dependable Respite, Attendant Care, and/or Habilitation services for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in the Litchfield Park area. This entry-level, onsite position supports personal independence by providing consistent, person-centered assistance with a strong emphasis on safety, respect, and clear communication.
Primary responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on support in accordance with each individual’s service plan, established routines, and measurable goals
- Build confidence by promoting self-esteem and advocacy through coaching, encouragement, and positive reinforcement
- Communicate professionally with individuals and stakeholders using a customer-focused, respectful approach
- Complete accurate documentation, maintain organized records, and follow required reporting practices
Required knowledge and skills:
- Familiarity with developmental disabilities
- Experience promoting self-esteem and advocacy
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Article 9 training (or willingness to obtain)
- Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Introduction to Developmental Disabilities certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Accurate documentation and record-keeping
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation

Shift Snapshot
At the start of your evening, night, or weekend shift, you’ll confirm the individual’s current service plan, review recent notes, and check for any updates to routines or appointments. Throughout the shift, you’ll follow the established schedule while allowing space for the individual to practice skills, make informed choices, and work toward personal goals at a steady pace. You may assist with transportation planning when needed, monitor safety and comfort, and keep interactions calm, respectful, and clear. To close out, you’ll summarize key events and complete timely documentation so the next team member can transition smoothly.
