Washington County Mental Health Services seeks a Clinical Training Specialist to design, deliver, and evaluate training programs that support clinical excellence and staff development across a community mental health agency. As part of the People and Culture team, this position develops and facilitates engaging onboarding, annual, and ad hoc trainings while ensuring content aligns with regulatory and accreditation standards, evidence-based practices, and the diverse learning needs of staff.

This position plays an important role in the agency's ability to maintain a well-prepared, competent workforce capable of delivering high-quality mental health, developmental disability, and substance use services across the service area.

Summary of Duties

Design, develop, and update clinical training curricula, materials, and resources for diverse learning needs
Facilitate training sessions for small and large groups using varied instructional methods
Monitor training completion rates, generate compliance reports, and send deadline reminders to staff and supervisors
Administer the agency's learning management system, including course assignments, content uploads, and technical troubleshooting
Evaluate training effectiveness using participant feedback, assessments, and outcome measures to drive program improvement
Coordinate training logistics including scheduling, venue securing, registration, and coordination with external trainers
Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership and subject matter experts to assess training needs and support agency-wide initiatives

Compensation and Benefits

Starting pay range for this position is $29.86 -$31.38 per hour.

QualificationsSummary of Qualifications

Master's degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with a minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience in mental health, behavioral health, or substance use treatment
Demonstrated experience in training development, instructional design, or adult education, with the ability to translate complex clinical concepts into accessible training content
Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices in behavioral health and disability services, including Cultural and Linguistically Appropriate Services standards
Proficiency in learning management systems and the ability to generate and analyze training data for reporting and program improvement
Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects autonomously, meet short turnaround times, and collaborate effectively across diverse professional roles

Workplace Conditions

Frequent extended use of a computer. Frequent travel to agency-owned sites for in-person meetings and trainings. Regular use of remote meeting software for individual support and online-based trainings.
