Waste Coordinator

The waste coordinator is responsible for creating processes and adhering to SC Regulations regarding producing, storage, packaging, and shipment of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste.  This position will report to the Site Manager.

 

1. Do daily floor checks of all satellite and accumulation stations in the facility
2. Check spill drums for supplies, record, and file data
3. Removes liquid and solid hazardous waste for each location in the facility daily, compact, weigh, label, record data, and transport to hazardous area
4. Removes liquid and solid non-hazardous waste for each location in the facility daily, compact, weigh, label, record data, and transport to non-hazardous area
5. Create and maintain schedules for monthly shipments of waste to the contracted hazardous waste facility
6. Create and maintain schedules for fluorescent bulbs and batteries for recycling
7. Record and document hazardous and non-hazardous waste dates throughout facility and maintain files
8. Complies and file all hazardous and non-hazardous waste manifesting
9. Inspect hazardous waste building weekly, record and maintain files
10. Develop and file waste profiles
11. Inspect all stacks for air emissions, record, and file
12. Supplies the proper labeled drums to at satellite locations
13. Supply all labels required throughout the facility
14. Perform daily/weekly floor inspections, record, and file
15. Maintain active hazardous chemical list in the facility
16. Collect all filter change logs and check for completeness
17. MSDS management
18. Maintains scrap waste log, weekly
19. Assist with the recycle and garbage pickup with MSS
20. Work with supervisors to ensure all procedures are be followed daily
21. Conducts training when necessary (forklift, Haz communication, etc.)
22. Collect and organize data for the local POTW and DHEC audits daily
23. Emergency response training and membership

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

1. 5 years previous Manufacturing Experience
2. Haz and non–haz waste and safety experience a plus
3. RCRA, DOT certification required
4. Ability to lead shift work
5. Excellent Safety, Quality and Attendance History
6. Mechanical aptitude with manufacturing processes
7. Computer skills required, Maintain waste schedules, etc.
8. Ability to be on-call and work any schedule as requested.
