Position Title: SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGNER
Location: HOUSTON TX 
FLSA Class: EXEMPT
Responsible to: HEAD OF PROJECT ENGINEERING

Position Summary: This position is primarily responsible for the creation, organization, and dissemination of mechanical designs as needed by the Engineering team. Duties can involve some hands-on lab work, and document writing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use Inventor/ AutoCad software to create detailed 3D designs for complex assets for power generation and natural gas solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to develop accurate and complete schematics.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Perform quality checks on completed schematics to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of schematics and related documentation.
  • Continuously improve skills and knowledge related to drafting and AutoCAD software.
  • Assist the team with equipment drawings and installation/testing.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop accurate technical specifications and RFQ’s.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in drafting with mechanical systems.
  • 5+ years of industry-related experience or an associate degree in a technical field.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and related software.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to changing technologies and industry practices.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Other Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the installation, operation, or troubleshooting of industrial automation equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge and proficiency with the company’s preferred software. (AutoCAD,
  • SolidWorks Electrical/Mechanical, Excel) and the ability to learn new software quickly
  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • Ability to take direction from engineering team and work independently to design systems per project design specifications
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
