Responsible to: PROJECT ENGINEER
Position Summary: This position assists the Project Manager and other senior team members in all phases of project execution, from estimating and planning through construction and closeout. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction management or electrical infrastructure projects and a strong desire to grow into a leadership role within the Infrastructure team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Manager in managing projects from pre-construction through final delivery.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Track and manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and asset teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Participate in subcontractor and vendor coordination, including issuance of purchase orders and monitoring of performance.
- Contribute to estimating efforts by conducting quantity takeoffs and preparing cost summaries.
- Maintain project tracking logs for schedule updates, change management, procurement status, and other key project metrics.
- Collaborate with safety and quality teams to support compliance with safety standards and quality control procedures.
- Support project closeout activities, including compiling documentation, punch lists, and turnover packages.
- Assist in the resolution of field issues, RFIs, and unforeseen challenges in collaboration with internal teams and subcontractors.
- Help enforce contractual and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management, appropriate to the role and business needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction management, Construction Science, Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a Construction Management, Construction Science or Engineering degree.
- Two (2) years of experience in project support roles within the construction or power infrastructure industry; experience with substations or electrical utility projects is a strong plus.
- Understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing, particularly in electrical infrastructure.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); scheduling software experience (Primavera P6, MS Project) is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- A proactive approach to identifying problems and developing solutions.
- Comfortable working on-site in field construction environments as needed.
