About this role

Provides team leadership in areas of specific technical knowledge that is frequently sought out by others with significant experience in a single, complex development environment or across multiple platforms.  

  • Assists with defining requirements; can perform detailed analysis of systems specifications for complex systems  
  • Identify and design efficient and cost effective solutions through research and evaluation of alternatives  
  • Completes coding on new, complex and involved systems; conducts code reviews  
  • Efficient tester; documents integrated system test plans  
  • Evaluate, redesign and modify existing program logic to improve overall system performance  
  • Evaluate and modify existing programs to take changes in systems requirements or equipment configurations into account  
  • Able to conduct feasibility studies for significant new systems or expansion of current systems  
  • Helps to develop project cost and benefit estimates, including identification and evaluation of alternatives  
  • Provide input to technical standards and systems investments  
  • Assist in evaluating alternative protocols, tools, standards and systems investments  
  • Able to provide training and assistance on full range of technical issues to lower level staff on a project team  
  • Able to carry out human resources administration activities such as interviewing job applicants, providing input to performance evaluations, etc.  
  • Works independently



  • Significant experience in a single complex development environment or across multiple platforms
  • In depth understanding of business unit functions and applications.  
  • Possesses unique or specific technical knowledge that is frequently sought out by others
  • Strong knowledge of systems development life cycle  
  • Strong knowledge of operational maintenance environment  
  • Technical training skills  
  • Shows strong, general understanding of health care industry  
  • Processes unique or specific business knowledge related to information systems applications that is frequently sought out by other  
  • Effective communications with all levels of internal and external customers and staff    
  • Able to lead walk through of design documents    
  • Independent communication with business partners to resolve design issues and negotiate project related items such as priorities and completion deadlines  
  • Leads others toward technical accomplishment, collaborative project team efforts and achievement of important project goals
