We are seeking an enthusiastic and pro-active Inside Sales Specialist, preferably with background in customer service or similar roles, to work as part of the Sales team to support Sales people with backoffice activities as well as pro-actively drive own sales initiatives.

Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver all daily processes with consistent accuracy while working within tight timelines.
- Address all pre-sales activities up to the handshake point with customer service (receipt of customer purchase order).
- Provide prompt and comprehensive responses to customer queries relating to pricing (RFQs), stock availability and other pre-order questions. Become the customer’s go-to contact for all pre-order related questions and become their voice within the business. Aspire to exceed customer expectation, to develop and optimize relationship.
- Clarify customer requirements, also in cooperation with salesperson as required.
- Handle internal pricing requests, including Salesforce CRs, LPQRs, preparing quote to customers and follow-up on quotes.
- Handle sample / prototype requests until handover stage to customer service.
- Take ownership of arising issues, ensuring investigation and timely resolution, either on own initiative, or based on salesperson’s direction.
- Pro-active contact of existing and potential customers in support of external sales activities.
- Attend meetings and conference calls as required.
- Cooperate with internal VPG stakeholders as required to complete responsibilities, get sales and / or BD person involved as necessary.
- Handle inbound leads as per assignment, ensuring internal communication with related sales and / or BD person involved.
- Ensure update of Salesforce entries into NBOs and Leads, move ahead in stages, follow-up.
- To undertake, within reason, any other task within the department as requested.
Requirements
- Above average levels of numeracy, literacy and IT skills are expected. Strong ERP skills. Relationships will be developed via telephone, email and occasionally face-to-face. Therefore, good communication and presentation skills are vital. High-level command of both spoken and written English, other foreign languages are of advantage.
- Minimum two years’ experience in customer service at a B2B manufacturing or distribution environment. Team player with ability to prioritise. Good attention to detail. Unafraid to take on new challenges and develop within a demanding environment. No knowledge of sensors is needed, but technical affinity would be advantageous.
- A degree of autonomy will be given, so independence, initiative and decision making are necessary. Operating primarily in an office environment, there are no specific safety issues. The ability to handle and prioritise a fluctuating, varied and sometimes pressurized workload is important.
