Director of Marketing, Events & Partnerships

 

Job Description:

VIA is seeking a full time Director of Marketing, Events & Partnerships. Reporting to the Vice President of Development, this position is primarily responsible for This position is primarily responsible for leading VIA’s marketing, events, communications, and partnership initiatives in support of VIA’s mission and fundraising goals.


Essential Functions:


Fundraising & Development

  • Lead annual fundraising campaigns, including the annual appeal, fundraising events, corporate sponsorships, and corporate donor initiatives. 
  • Develop and maintain corporate partnerships and sponsorship opportunities that support fundraising goals. 
  • Support donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and planned giving efforts. 
  • Monitor fundraising results and use data to strengthen future campaigns and initiatives. 

Marketing & Communications

  • Lead and oversee the organization’s marketing, communications, and outreach function. 
  • Develop and execute annual marketing and communications plans aligned with organizational priorities. 
  • Maintain consistent organizational messaging and branding across internal and external communications. 
  • Partner with department leaders to identify needs and develop marketing and communications strategies that support organizational goals. 

Department Management

  • Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and operational plans in alignment with organizational and Development priorities. 
  • Monitor departmental revenue and expenses and ensure resources are effectively allocated. 
  • Manage external vendors, projects, and resources as needed to support department initiatives. 

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the VP of Development and department leaders to advance organizational initiatives and strategic priorities. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, corporate partners, community stakeholders, and other external audiences. 
  • Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, accountability, and professionalism while maintaining confidentiality.

  • Strategic Thinking – Ability to translate organizational and Development priorities into actionable fundraising, marketing, communications, and outreach initiatives. 
  • Fundraising & Development Expertise – Knowledge of effective fundraising practices, including but not limited to solicitation, stewardship, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, annual appeals, and fundraising events. 
  • Relationship Building – Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with donors, corporate partners, community stakeholders, and internal partners. 
  • Communication – Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse internal and external audiences. 
  • Organizational Skills – Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, deadlines, and resources effectively.
  • Initiative & Accountability – Proactive and self-directed, with strong follow-through, sound judgment, and ownership of responsibilities and results. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing or communications related field.
  • Proficiency with design, digital marketing, web, social media, video, and Microsoft Office platforms, including Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, WordPress, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Excel, and social media platforms.

Compensation:

$75,000.00 to $85,000.00 annually
