That’s why we’re looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support the firm’s accounts payable function by performing a variety of accounting duties.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for…
- Processing/reviewing accounts payable records via Emburse in accordance with established firm policies and procedures, including assessment of sales/use tax as appropriate.
- Performing monthly review and follow-up of all pending invoice submissions in Emburse.
- Providing support for transfer of files from Emburse to Aderant via Generic Importer.
- Providing support for payment schedules and travel processing, Westlaw and Lexis uploads, and other Import applications, as required, specifically for month-end processing.
- Providing support for reconciliation of vendor statements for outstanding invoices; Providing back-up support for Vendor Setup.
- As needed, communicate with domestic and foreign vendors to resolve issues/discrepancies to ensure all vendor accounts are in good standing. Respond to inquiries of internal clients.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
- Ability to learn and work in an automated AP workflow system such as Chrome River Expense and Invoice, Aderant experience is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Pay Range for Candidates in Baltimore, MD: $70,000 - $76,000 per year
The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location. Additional compensation may include discretionary bonuses and overtime, if eligible. Overtime wages earned will be paid in compliance with applicable law.
