- The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient and timely movement, storage, and organization of materials within the warehouse or production facility. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that materials are available for production processes and that inventory levels are maintained accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Safely and efficiently load and unload materials from delivery vehicles, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Organize and store materials in designated locations, maintaining an orderly and accessible inventory system.
- Prepare and stage materials for production, ensuring that all necessary components are available for manufacturing processes.
- Perform regular inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to production lines.
- Assist in the implementation of safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or issues with materials to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material handling processes and efficiency.

QualificationsMUST HAVE A VALID/CLEAN DRIVERS LICENSE
Required Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Experience with inventory management systems.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a material handling setting.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve material handling issues.
