We're looking for a full-time Financial Coordinator to join our team in Sacramento.
Position Summary
Assists patients and staff in understanding the financial aspects of treatment cycles and services at NCFMC
Serves as a resource for treatment cost information for patients, staff, and physicians
Performs treatment cycle audit processes
Responsibilities
Meet with patients to discuss costs associated with the medical plan of care, including diagnostic testing, medications, and cycle fees
Calculate patient financial responsibility, factoring in insurance benefits and approved discounts
Obtain authorizations and discuss cycle fee due dates with patients for IUI and IVF cycles
Complete patient follow-up letters summarizing treatment plan fees
Perform post-cycle audits on all insurance and third-party cycles to confirm services have been posted and paid, and submit patient refund requests as needed
Notify patients of past due cycle fees
Notify patients of account balances following a cancelled cycle, after posting for services rendered
Assist Billing and Insurance Coordinators with financial and insurance-related issues
Update financial flowsheets with cycle fee information
Ensure the NCFMC website reflects up to date information
Provide backup support to the front office as needed
Complete IUI tasks assigned by medical staff, including required authorizations and posting patient fees
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum three years of managed care experience in a health care organization, OB/Gyn background preferred
High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in health or business administration preferred
Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures, health care insurance practices and compliance, billing/insurance/coding requirements, medical terminology, and general computer systems and applications
Skilled in gathering and reporting authorization and claim information, troubleshooting cycle financial problems, and written and verbal communication with patients
Ability to work effectively with physicians, medical staff, and patients
Ability to identify and analyze potential cycle payment problems
Working understanding of fertility procedures and CPT codes used in an OB/Gyn environment, with the ability to communicate coverage and cost clearly to patients
Ability to review medical documents for accuracy and completeness
Strong verbal and written communication skills
