Full Job Description
US Heart and Vascular is seeking a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Birmingham Heart Clinic in Birmingham, AL. This role supports our growing PET imaging services, covering days when our full-time techs (who work 4-10 schedules) are off, as well as providing coverage to our satellite offices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform PET scans
Explain medical procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have
Follow safety procedures to protect the patients and themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as required
Operate imaging equipment
Maintain detailed procedure records
Follow safety and disposal radiation procedures
Provide coverage at satellite office locations as needed
Requirements, Skills, and Abilities
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
Registered with ARRT or NMTCB
BLS/CPR certification
Flexibility to travel to satellite office locations as needed
