About this role

  • Provides academic advising and student success support to undergraduate students in the School of Communication and Media, supporting academic progress, policy navigation, and timely degree completion. 

  • Collaborates with CCFA advising team, faculty, and campus partners to support advising, graduation, and compliance processes. 

  • Manages admissions-related processes, supports recruitment initiatives, maintains student records, and ensures compliance with university policies and deadlines.

Responsibilities

Academic Advising & Student Support

  • Advises and counsels students regarding course selection appropriate to their major and general educational goals.

  • Monitors student progress toward degree completion, ensuring compliance with university policies, procedures, and deadlines.

  • Administers and coordinates new student orientation with CCFA advisors.

  • Provides referral services as appropriate to support student success.

 

Recruitment Support 

  • Leads and assists with recruitment efforts and other admissions-related events in coordination with CCFA recruitment staff.

 

Records & Reporting 

  • Develops and maintains accurate and current student records.

  • Assist in compiling reports in coordination with college and university staff.

  • Provide graduation checkout services and degree certification processes for undergraduate students.

 

Supervision & Student Success Systems 

  • Maintains and updates information within the Student Success Center and related tracking systems.

 

Faculty & Administrative Collaboration

  • Consults regularly with school faculty and administrators regarding course requirements, student concerns, curriculum matters, and related issues.

 

Other Duties 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field 

  • Two (2) years of appropriate experience. 

  • Relevant experience may substitute for required education. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in academic advising in higher education.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Experience supporting recruitment or admissions functions.

  • Graduate degree in any field/experience working with graduate students
