Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Neuroscience

About This Opportunity

Join the Queensland Brain Institute as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and contribute to purposeful research investigating in vivo imaging approaches for stroke recovery. Working within a collaborative and inclusive research environment, you will develop your expertise and emerging research profile while contributing to research translation, supervision, researcher development, and the wider life of the Institute.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Research: Produce quality research outputs consistent with discipline norms, publish in high-quality outlets, develop a coherent research program, and apply best-practice research methodologies.
• Funding, collaboration, and translation: Contribute to competitive research funding applications and joint research projects, and support the translation of knowledge, technology, and practices to research end users.
• Supervision and researcher development: Contribute to the effective supervision and development of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students, as appropriate, through feedback, coaching, and professional development.
• Citizenship and service: Demonstrate UQ values through collaboration, active participation in Institute priorities, internal and external service, and the development of partnerships with industry, government, professional bodies, and the wider community.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for up to 12 months at Academic Level A.

Base salary will be in the range $85,372 to $113,659 plus 17% super.

About You

• Completion or near completion of a PhD in Neuroscience.
• An emerging research profile in a discipline relevant to in vivo imaging and stroke recovery.
• Evidence of quality research publications in reputable refereed journals.
• Evidence of presenting research findings at conferences or other scholarly forums.
• Evidence of contributing to successful applications for external research funding.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on joint research projects and contribute to research translation.
• Experience contributing to supervision, researcher development, or the support of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students.
• Experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions to external engagement activities, together with a commitment to research integrity, safety, and UQ values.
