Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all employee-related operations across Universal Travel Concierge (UTC), The College Butler, and Table and Chair. This position manages the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, scheduling support, employee records, training coordination, performance management, and employee relations.
The HR Manager works directly with company leadership to ensure each business is properly staffed with qualified, professional employees and that team members consistently meet company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage recruiting and hiring for all three companies.
- Create and post job openings and actively recruit qualified candidates.
- Review applications and resumes and conduct initial interviews.
- Coordinate final interviews with management when necessary.
- Prepare offer letters, employment agreements, and onboarding documents.
- Conduct new-hire onboarding and orientation.
- Maintain employee files, records, certifications, and required documentation.
- Coordinate background checks and other pre-employment requirements.
- Track employee availability, staffing needs, and scheduling requirements.
- Work with managers to ensure shifts, jobs, and client services are appropriately staffed.
- Manage employee attendance, call-outs, lateness, and other performance concerns.
- Conduct employee check-ins and performance reviews.
- Handle employee complaints and workplace concerns professionally and confidentially.
- Issue verbal and written disciplinary actions when appropriate.
- Develop and maintain company HR policies, employee handbooks, and workplace procedures.
- Coordinate employee training and ensure required training is completed.
- Assist leadership with compensation, promotions, raises, and staffing decisions.
- Manage employee resignations, terminations, and offboarding.
- Maintain an active pipeline of potential employees for positions with frequent staffing needs.
- Ensure employees understand the service, appearance, conduct, confidentiality, and professionalism standards of each company.
- Provide leadership with regular updates regarding hiring, staffing, employee performance, and HR concerns.
Company-Specific Responsibilities
Universal Travel Concierge (UTC): Recruit and manage concierge, administrative, operations, travel, driver, and other service personnel. Ensure employees understand UTC's luxury-service expectations, confidentiality requirements, and client-service standards.
The College Butler: Recruit and manage cleaners, organizers, packing/unpacking staff, supervisors, and other field employees. Maintain sufficient staffing to accommodate recurring cleanings, move-in/move-out periods, Greek house services, and seasonal demand.
Table and Chair: Recruit and manage concierge, reservation, customer-service, administrative, and operations employees. Ensure team members are trained to provide responsive and professional member service.
Success in This Role
Success will be measured by maintaining appropriate staffing levels, hiring qualified employees, reducing employee turnover, completing onboarding efficiently, maintaining accurate HR records, addressing employee issues promptly, and building professional teams capable of delivering the service standards expected across all three companies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have experience in human resources, recruiting, hospitality, staffing, or employee management. Strong communication, organization, discretion, and problem-solving skills are required. The candidate must be comfortable managing employees across multiple businesses and handling confidential employee information.
Experience working in hospitality, luxury service, cleaning services, concierge operations, or other service-based businesses is preferred.
